Speaking of curious MP3-player developments: Having an iPod is a cool thing, pretty much wherever you go. Except for one place in particular: Microsoft’s corporate campus in Redmond, Wash. Wired managed to get the scoop on the backlash against the Apple product there from a “high-level manager,” who says, “About 80 percent of Microsoft employees who have a portable music player have an iPod. It’s pretty staggering. This irks the management team no end. … Some people are a bit concerned about being traitors, not supporting the company.
