Here's a new one for the file on pitfalls of keyword-based ad targeting: A Florida criminal defense lawyer's ad appears on the same Web page as his mugshot for driving under the influence. Thomas Lewis Edwards is smiling in both pictures, because, as Gawker explains, he's also an official expert on how most mugshots look terrible. That is to say, a local paper once quoted him stating the obvious about mugshots. Of course, the exposure from the online rubbernecking, and future "I've been in your shoes" selling point, may actually chalk up to a net benefit for all the parties involved here—the lawyer, and himself.
