At least one person may be quite happy this morning to learn that Geico’s caveman campaign, created by The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., is being developed into a sitcom at ABC. Variety reports: “Cavemen will revolve around three prehistoric men who must battle prejudice as they attempt to live as normal thirtysomethings in modern Atlanta.” Sounds heavy. Perhaps Aaron Sorkin can write the show if Studio 60 goes under. It’s unclear if the actors from the TV commercials, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Ben Weber and John Lehr, have signed on for the series.
