Free Up Some Hangers, Because ThankUObama Is Now a Clothing Line

JoeFreshGoods says the line is a nostalgic throwback to a time of hope.

If you’re a die-hard Barack Obama fan looking to do more than send the former POTUS a postcard, you can always sport your love on a hoodie.

Designer JoeFreshGoods has created ThankUObama, a clothing line themed for the former president and his family. The (literal) crowning glory is the King Obama tee, which brings to mind an iconic shot of Notorious B.I.G. It also comes as a poster.

The collection is being modeled by Chance the Rapper, who announced the launch of ThankUObama via Twitter on Feb. 2.

Other items in the line include a hoodie; an all-star jersey; a sweater thanking former First Lady Michelle, featuring her high school mascot; and, just for the ’80s kids, an airbrush-style sweatshirt commemorating the Obamas’ wedding day on the backside:

But our favorite is probably “A Message to Malia.” This chill burgundy tee reads MALIA in big letters, followed by the words “We all smoke, it’s OK” in tiny letters along the bottom.

The description for this item reads, “You’re young, have fun, Also. Congrats on Harvard.”

“With this project i wanted to timestamp a period in my life where I felt like I can do whatever I wanted to do and be whatever I wanted to be,” JoeFreshGoods wrote about the clothing line.

“The night Obama won his first term gave me so much hope, especially and most importantly as a black man. I decided to make a collection saying ‘Thank you’ and give me something to smile at every now and then when I look in the closet.”

It may be tough getting your hands on the clothing, though. The site claims it’s all sold out, and a scroll reads, “Do not wear. This is art.”
