Enjoy credit-card debt in the game of Life

Visa’s tagline, “Life takes Visa,” is now doubly true—Life the board game now takes Visa the debit card. Just like recent versions of Monopoly, Hasbro’s new “Twists and Turns” edition of Life replaces paper money with a Visa swipe card and electronic pod that stores players’ financial data. Sounds chilling, like a training kit for tomorrow’s consumers. But Hasbro insists the object of the game is not just to accumulate money but also “life points” from purchasing life experiences. This assumes, of course, that worthwhile “life experiences” can, in fact, be purchased. I checked Equifax: My credit score’s too low to play. I’ll stick to Monopoly, where at least you can get out of jail free.
