ABC and Cox Communications are developing an on-demand service that would let viewers watch the network’s shows whenever they want, but also disable their ability to skip commercials. It’s a Big Brother-esque move that doesn’t apply to Big Brother, which is a CBS program. It would apply to ABC fare like Lost (still popular) and Desperate Housewives (slipping fast). ABC and Cox say consumer response to a pilot program of the system has been positive, naturally.
