It’s a particular irritation of the modern era: you spend a long time choosing something to watch from a large array of streaming services, only to find out you’ve inadvertently picked a bad film. As anyone with multiple streaming passwords can attest, quantity doesn’t always translate to quality.

To stand out among the competition, Draken Film, an indie streaming service in Sweden, has created an antidote to bad movie experiences. The brand enlisted Swedish agency Forsman & Bodenfors to develop “The Bad Movie Index,” a formula that makes Draken’s content more accessible as people watch more poorly rated films.

Bad films lead to cheaper prices

The way it works is that an API collects data on the most popular titles available on streaming giants such as Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+.
