The groundwork for a deeper discussion about social injustice has been laid thanks to the Black Lives Matter movement, believed to be the largest civil rights movement in U.S. history, according to Harvard’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy.

The latest issue of Adweek honors the three women co-founders of the #BLM movement, Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi, with our Beacon Award. On this episode if Oh Yeah, That’s Probably an Ad, co-hosts David Griner and Ko Im speak with the writer of our cover story (and pop culture enthusiast) Shannon Miller on interviewing the honorees, as well as what consumers are looking for from brands in 2020 and beyond.
