Bottles of tequila are commonly brought to the graves of deceased friends and family on Day of the Dead, the Mexican celebration of remembrance for the departed. Espolòn Tequila is drawing on that connection by enlisting three celebrities of Mexican descent to explain how they celebrate Day of the Dead and honor their heritage.

L.A.-based photographer Estevan Oriol took pictures of himself, Mexico City R&B artist Girl Ultra and skateboarder, actor and recording artist Paul Rodriguez that integrate bottles and glasses of Espolòn along with traditional ways of celebrating Day of the Dead—or Día de Muertos—such as altars, candles, calaveras (decorative skulls) and marigolds.

Individuality in remembrance

Each of the participants also appeared in videos explaining exactly how they celebrate the holiday and their relationship with death.
