Jerry Kersting Monday (May 3) was named president of Tribune Broadcasting. He replaces Ed Wilson, who exited the position last Friday.

Since Dec. 2009, Kersting has served as chief operating officer of Tribune Broadcasting.
In his new position, Kersting will oversee the day-to-day operations of Tribune’s 23 TV station, WGN America (Tribune’s national cable channel) and WGN-AM in Chicago.

“We’ve established some strong momentum across our broadcasting division, but there is a lot more to do,” said Kersting.
