This Year’s Emmy Ceremony Will Be ‘Hostless,’ Fox Says

Also, network CEO isn’t worried about Masked Singer fatigue

First the Oscars ditched its customary emcee this year, and now the Emmys is following suit.

This year’s Emmy ceremony, which will air Sept. 22 on Fox, will also be hostless, Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier told reporters today at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in L.A.

The ceremony rotates among the big four broadcast networks; last year, Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost and Michael Che emceed the ceremony, which was broadcast on NBC.

As this year’s Emmy network, “It’s our job to assess how to elevate the program,” said Collier.
