The Demi Lovato Show, Intended for Quibi, Is Headed to Roku

The new series premieres as a Roku Original on July 30

In May, Roku began airing the programming it acquired from Quibi earlier this year—and now the platform is preparing to debut the first series that never actually aired on the short-lived streamer: The Demi Lovato Show.

Top line

The series, set to premiere July 30 on The Roku Channel, is one of 75 that Roku bought from the shuttered short-form streaming service Quibi in January and rebranded as Roku Originals. But Quibi shut down last December before Lovato’s show was able to air on the platform.

Between the lines

Each 10-minute episode of The Demi Lovato Show will feature the star and a special guest discussing topics like feminism, activism, gender identity, sex and body positivity and mental health.

“Demi Lovato is a voice of a generation and we’re beyond excited to elevate their voice with new audiences,” Brian Tannenbaum, Roku’s head of original alternative programming, said in a statement.
