The CW Sets Fall Schedule, Riverdale Finale as Likely Network Sale Looms

New lineup includes Walker spinoff, Supernatural prequel and just one superhero series

It’s the end of an era at The CW.

The network returned to upfront week Thursday morning after sitting the event out for the past two years. Ahead of its upfront presentation at New York City Center, The CW set its fall schedule and announced that Riverdale, one if its longest running and most popular series, will say goodbye next season.

“It’s an iconic pop culture star and we want to make sure it goes out the right way,” Mark Pedowitz, chairman and CEO of The CW Network, told reporters Thursday morning ahead of the event about his decision to end the series.
