With a robust slate of upcoming shows, Disney+ has high hopes for 2022. And The Book of Boba Fett—the streamer’s second live-action Star Wars series and a spinoff of The Mandalorian—is the first of many series this year that Disney hopes will grow the streamer far beyond its current 116 million subscriber base.

The titular character has been a mainstay of the Star Wars universe, even before making its film debut in The Empire Strikes Back, but it wasn’t until the character’s appearance in The Mandalorian on the streamer that actor Temuera Morrison saw the opportunity for Boba to have his own show.
