Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming drama Mayor of Kingstown has been a long time coming.   

The crime drama series, which is co-created by Sheridan and actor Hugh Dillon, has been percolating for about 12 years, ever since Sheridan and Dillon met each other in Los Angeles. The first script sat largely untouched for a decade until the two creative partners felt it was the right time to bring the story to life as one of the first originals for the less-than-a-year-old streaming service Paramount+, Dillon said Tuesday.
