Yet another group of stations in a TV market is pooling its video resources for local news, a practice that is sweeping local TV. Beginning Tuesday (June 2), three stations in Tampa, Fla.—WTVT, Fox Television’s owned-and-operated station; WTSP-TV, Gannett’s CBS
affiliate; and WFTS-TV, E.W. Scripps’ ABC affiliate—announced the launch of a local news service that will arrange the collection and video delivery for the coverage of certain broadly covered local events.

While the stations may share video, each station will operate independently and apply the station’s own editing and reporting style to commonly covered stories.
