Roku Rebrands Quibi Content as Roku Originals

The platform's new brand will also house its future original programming

Roku is officially getting into the original programming game, rebranding all of the content it acquired from the failed shortform streamer Quibi this year as Roku Originals. The brand name will also house future originals from the connected TV platform.

Top line

Under the new banner, more than 75 original series created for Quibi are set to debut on The Roku Channel later this year. Roku scooped up the exclusive global rights to stream the shows following Quibi’s end last fall.

Between the lines

“Every day, millions of viewers turn to The Roku Channel to find quality programming they love,” Sweta Patel, vp of engagement growth marketing, said in a statement.
