Peacock Finally Comes to Amazon Fire TV, After Nearly a Year

The platform was the only major connected TV distributor that did not carry the streamer

Nearly a year after its official launch, NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock will finally be available on all major connected TV platforms after striking a distribution deal today with Amazon.

The service will land on Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets in the U.S. beginning Thursday, with just under a month to go until the kickoff of the Tokyo Olympics, which will be prominently featured on the streamer.

The companies also reached a distribution agreement for NBCUniversal’s 15 network apps, including NBC, Bravo, NBC News, NBC Sports and Telemundo.

“We look forward to building on our existing partnership with Fire TV’s millions of customers and offering them Peacock’s undeniable lineup of original, library and film content,” said Matt Bond, chairman, content distribution, NBCUniversal, in a statement.
