Shonda Rhimes’ first project on Netflix isn’t just a smash hit—it’s the biggest original series debut ever on the streaming service.

Bridgerton, the period drama that debuted on Dec. 25, is the platform’s biggest series yet, with more than 82 million households around the world tuning in to watch the drama, Netflix vp, original series Jinny Howe said in a blog post on Wednesday.
