NBCU Says Its 2020 TV and Streaming Overhaul Is Already Paying Off

It’s been a year since Mark Lazarus was promoted to NBCUniversal television and streaming chairman, and the executive has been working since then to overhaul his division in order to reflect new audience viewing habits.

Last summer, he overhauled the television division structure, creating three horizontally integrated units—direct-to-consumer, entertainment business and entertainment programming—alongside the existing sports-owned television stations and affiliate relations units.

“Our business is about audiences,” Lazarus told Adweek TV editor Jason Lynch at Adweek’s Convergent TV Summit on Monday.
