Now that the Olympics have concluded, NBC Sports is taking the wraps off its new sports technology division, NBC Sports Next.

It is a rebrand of the NBC Sports’ Digital and Consumer Business division, combining three operational areas: youth and recreational sports, golf, as well as betting, gaming and emerging media.

“The purpose of this is twofold,” Will McIntosh, evp of NBC Sports Next, told Adweek. “It’s all about trying to make the playing of sports better.
