It was a great Sunday evening for the U.S. Olympic team, and NBC seemed to benefit from the squad's success. Michael Phelps won his record 19th gold medal by leading the U.S. men's swimming team to gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay. Katie Ledecky captured her first gold medal of Rio, smashing the world record in the women's 400m freestyle. The trio of Simone Biles, Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas put on a display of dominance in women's gymnastics.

Viewers tuned into the Sunday prime-time festivities in droves, as NBC easily lapped the competition.
