The next Avengers project won’t be in theaters or on Disney+, but on ESPN’s linear and streaming networks, as part of the May 3 National Basketball Association game between the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans.

Marvel and ESPN are partnering on the first Marvel-themed alternate presentation of an NBA game, NBA Special Edition Presented by State Farm: Marvel’s Arena of Heroes. Airing on Monday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m., it will be shown on ESPN2, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes with the traditional game telecast on ESPN. 

Between the lines

The telecast will feature characters from the Avengers franchise such as Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Black Widow and Doctor Strange in an original Marvel story throughout the live game, including 3D virtual characters, custom graphics and animation packages.
