As the country, and the world, continues to be focused on Covid-19, National Geographic is looking ahead to the next pandemic—and the efforts to stop the next contagion before it’s too late.

The network has ordered a documentary special, Virus Hunters, spotlighting the stories of experts working to identify the chain of events that could lead to the next pandemic. Produced by ABC News’ Lincoln Square Productions, Virus Hunters will premiere on Nov. 1, National Geographic said today at the CTAM virtual press tour (which is partially replacing the annual Television Critics Association’s summer press tour, canceled this year due to the pandemic).
