Nancy Dubuc Promoted to President, CEO of A+E Networks; Abbe Raven Will Be Chairman

Second promotion for Dubuc in less than a year

History Channel revitalizer Nancy Dubuc continues her ascent up the food chain at A+E Networks, this time to the presidency of the group. She will be both president and CEO, and current topper Abbe Raven will advance to the newly created position of chairman.

The company characterized the changes as assigning the day-to-day running of the A+E family—A&E, History, Lifetime, Bio and their smaller siblings—to Dubuc, with Raven focusing on "long-term revenue opportunities, as well as public policy initiatives," according to a statement. "I am so proud of what Nancy, the management team and our employees have accomplished, and I know they will take A+E Networks to new heights," said Raven in the statement.

Dubuc has led History to the top of the cable ratings. The network's Pawn Stars and Storage Wars are huge hits, and its scripted shows including Vikings and The Bible have pulled in major viewer numbers as well. It's her second promotion in less than a year—in September, she was upped to president of entertainment and media. Now she'll run the whole shooting match.

"Abbe has been a great mentor and partner for over 10 years," Dubuc said. "She created a corporate culture at A+E Networks where creativity thrives, and as a result we cultivated some of the most powerful global brands in media."
