Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings to Host Jeopardy! Through End of Year

The search for a permanent replacement is still ongoing following Mike Richards' exit

Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings are set to host the remaining episodes of Jeopardy! through the end of the year, the latest development in the ongoing turbulent search for a permanent host of the beloved game show following Alex Trebek’s death last fall.

Top line

Bialik will host the nightly syndicated game show from Sept. 20 through Nov. 5, and then she and Jennings will trade off as their schedules allow, producer Sony Pictures Television said Thursday.

Between the lines

The news follows the exit of former executive producer and short-lived host Mike Richards, who a month ago had been named permanent host—with Bialik anchoring primetime and spin-off specials—before Richards stepped down just a week later following revelations that he had disparaged women and Jews, among others, on his former podcast.
