Mad Men, Empire and Transparent were among the shows that racked up multiple nominations today when the Television Critics Association announced its 2015 TCA Awards nominees.

The TCA, which is made up of more than 200 North American TV critics and journalists, honors outstanding television programming, often recognizing acclaimed shows that Emmy voters overlook—like The Americans, which today nabbed three nominations. 

This year's nominees include a number of freshman series: Jane the Virgin (three nominations overall), Transparent (four nominations), Empire (four nominations), Better Call Saul (two nominations), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (one nomination), The Flash (one nomination), Fresh Off the Boat (one nomination) and How to Get Away with Murder (one nomination). 

Among the other notable TCA Awards nominees were Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (Outstanding Achievement in News and Information), The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries and Specials) and Inside Amy Schumer...
