How Disney+ Created High-Stakes Series Andor—Even Though We Know the Ending

The Rogue One prequel spans the 5 years before the film

The next entrant to the massive Star Wars universe arrives on Disney+ on Sept. 21—but we already know how it ends.

The upcoming series Andor serves as a prequel to Rogue One and covers the five years before the film’s events. Diego Luna reprises his role as Cassian Andor in the series, who—spoiler alert—dies at the end of Rogue One.

But showrunner and creator Tony Gilroy isn’t worried that the series will be low stakes just because viewers know the ending.
