Warner Bros. Discovery is becoming closer to a reality. The pending WarnerMedia and Discovery merger, which will radically reshape the media landscape, is on track to close in the second quarter, AT&T said during its fourth quarter earnings call this morning.

Previously execs had projected a mid-year close, but AT&T CEO John Stankey said the company is “moving into final preparations.”

On the regulatory front, “we don’t see anything that causes us concern, consequently raising our confidence level,” said Stankey.
