Season two of FX’s drama series Sons of Anarchy got off to a rip roarin’ start Tuesday night, scaring up 4.29 million viewers and 3.03 million adults 18-49, while setting the network’s all-time high-water mark among men 18-49 (1.97 million).

Per Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings data, last night’s opener bettered Sons’ season one average among the 18-49 demo by 107 percent. Total viewers were up 94 percent versus last season’s average draw of 2.21 million.

In addition to breaking the all-time FX record, Sons’ delivery of men 18-49 marks the upper limit for all basic cable series year-to-date.
