Emmy Ratings Up 16%, Ending Record-Low Pandemic Award Show Streak

The CBS telecast drew 7.4 million viewers, its largest audience since 2018

It was a big night for streamers at the 73rd Emmy Awards, but it was also, surprisingly enough, a victory for good old-fashioned broadcast television as the new TV season kicks off.

The CBS telecast of the annual awards show, which was also simulcast on Paramount+, drew 7.4 million viewers, up 16% from last year’s 6.37 million viewers. Those numbers don’t yet include out of home viewing, which will be included in Tuesday’s final numbers; CBS estimates that will grow the audience to 7.9
