After 19 seasons, Ellen DeGeneres will lower the curtains on her syndicated daytime talk series The Ellen DeGeneres Show next year.
The news, which DeGeneres announced today in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter after informing staff earlier this week, will mark the end of one of the longest-running and most successful daytime talk series. In recent years, the show has been marred by behind-the-scenes controversies that have prompted a significant ratings fall-off.
