Magnolia Network, Discovery’s joint venture with Chip and Joanna Gaines—whose October 2020 linear debut was postponed because of the pandemic—will now make it to air on Jan. 5, 2022.

On that day, DIY Network will rebrand as Magnolia at 9 p.m. ET, with the linear debut of the couple’s signature show, Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, Magnolia said today.

The network, which is Chip and Joanna’s biggest renovation ever, was to be introduced on Oct. 4, 2020, but the debut was postponed in April 2020 after Covid-19 shut down filming.

With just a handful of original episodes complete across Magnolia’s slate, the couple nixed the idea of launching with a heavy dose of acquired and library content.
