Amazon Highlights Freevee, Virtual Product Placement at In-Person NewFronts Debut

The new ad offering inserts brands in original content after filming

While Prime Video gets a lot of Amazon’s streaming buzz, the company wants marketers to know it’s a real player in the AVOD space as well. Last week, the company rebranded its free streamer IMDb TV as Freevee, and Amazon announced a host of original programming for the platform at its first in-person NewFronts presentation Monday evening at New York’s Lincoln Center.

Hosted by Amy Poehler, the company’s presentation highlighted Freevee, along with a new virtual product placement offering that inserts brands into Prime Video and Freevee original content after filming and Thursday Night Football, which will be streaming exclusively on Prime Video this fall.
