Adweek Together: Streaming Services Hit Their Stride

In the age of coronavirus, streamers see new opportunities—and challenges.

Today on Adweek Together, the streaming wars are heating up.

Streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu have cornered the market for on-demand viewer eyeballs. But with the entry of Disney+ in October and the anticipated launch of HBO Max, Peacock and Quibi later this year, they’re about to have some serious competition.

What none of these deep-pocketed content producers saw coming, however, was the coronavirus.

In our second episode of Adweek Together, streaming editor Kelsey Sutton joins executive editor Stephanie Paterik to talk about how the COVID-19 pandemic will also be remembered as the moment streamers hit their stride. (Editor’s note: as can happen with live transmissions, Kelsey’s video feed was slightly distorted, apologies for that).

Adweek Together is a daily live discussion, streaming at 1 p.m. ET, hosted by our editors along with the leaders of the companies we cover, seeking guidance, solutions and information—together.
