NBCUniversal has appointed a new general manager to helm G4. The network announced that Adam Stotsky took the network's reins Thursday as the channel's previous gm, Neal Tiles, stepped down from the post.

Stotsky will report to NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios chair Bonnie Hammer.

"I'm confident that he'll provide tremendous leadership and unlock G4's potential as a genuine force on the media landscape." Hammer said in a statement about the move. Stotsky had previously been president of marketing for the NBC entertainment division of NBCUniversal.

Tiles abrupt departure on Thursday came after six years as head of the network.
