Yesterday, in a major coup for the network, ABC News announced that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will sit down with Diane Sawyer for her first interview since she was shot last January. But several hours later, the Arizona congresswoman's team clarified that the conversation itself might not actually be shown.

Mark Kimble, a spokesman for Giffords, told the Tucson Sentinel that Giffords “has not decided if she’s going to conduct an on-air interview.” He said that Giffords will decide whether to show any interview “at some point, based on her progress,” adding that when she “does decide to do an interview, I think a lot of consideration will be given to local media.”
