In-garage grocery delivery is expanding

Amazon is bringing in-garage delivery through its home access service, Key by Amazon, to 5,000 U.S. locations where it offers grocery delivery.

To participate, Prime members must have a compatible garage door opener, or MyQ Smart Garage Hub, which are listed on Amazon for about $30 to $90.

Shoppers can use the Key or Amazon apps to see notifications about deliveries. They can also see videos of deliveries with compatible Ring-smart home cameras or LiftMaster Smart Garage cameras.

Between the lines

Adweek covered the expansion of Key into in-garage delivery in April 2019, which was about 18 months after the platform first enabled in-home deliveries.
