The Noid Returns to Sabotage Self-Driving Pizza Deliveries in New Domino's Ad

The retro villain will also appear in a new Crash Bandicoot mobile game

As Domino’s prepares to pilot-test new driverless delivery vehicles in Texas, a familiar nemesis is already plotting to thwart the rollout.

The pizza chain’s ’80s-era saboteur-mascot, the Noid, is appearing in a new set of ads touting the partnership between Domino’s and self-driving delivery startup Nuro, announced earlier this month. In classic fashion, the antihero attempts to derail the autonomous deliveries by creative means, but finds himself no match for the futuristic vehicle’s dexterity.

“The Noid is Domino’s oldest and most famous villain and the pizza delivery testing we’re doing with Nuro’s autonomous vehicle is exactly the kind of technology innovation that could provoke the Noid to return,” Kate Trumbull, Domino’s vice president of advertising, said in a statement.
