While stuck inside, streaming shows on Disney+ and HBO Max following the Covid-19 outbreak, people have also been doing something else: snacking.
Nearly half of adults around the world report snacking more during the pandemic than previously, according to research from Mondelēz International. Around the same number say snacking has served as a “lifeline.”
The increase in munching has boosted earnings for the likes of Mondelēz (the maker of Oreo and Ritz), PepsiCo (Doritos, Cheetos) and Campbell Soup Company (Goldfish, Pepperidge Farm).
