Financial services company Stripe is teaming with delayed payment giant Klarna to offer buy now, pay later (BNPL) capabilities to the millions of merchants who use Stripe, the latest in a series of major deals between payment providers and BNPL companies.
The partnership will allow Stripe’s retail merchants in 20 countries to choose whether to offer Klarna’s installment payments as an option at checkout. The collaboration will also make Stripe Klarna’s preferred payment provider for all consumer purchases, and the majority of Klarna’s payment volume throughout the United States and Canada will now be processed through Stripe.
