Following reports actor Gwyneth Paltrow joined the exclusive Bored Ape Yacht Club, apparel retailer PacSun announced a somewhat aesthetically similar NFT series of its own called Pac Mall Rats.

The launch includes three original Pac Mall Rats, representing California stores in Santa Monica, Brea and downtown Los Angeles. The collection will eventually come to include 300 Mall Rats. Each will represent a different PacSun store.

Between the lines

The Mall Rats are designed by an in-house team and—unlike Bored Apes—include bodies, so PacSun can show off accessories, footwear and bottoms “for a comprehensive look that … [highlights] styles from current campaigns and product initiatives.”
