PayPal Reportedly Eyes $45B Acquisition of Pinterest

The payments and ecommerce giant looks to add the visual search and shopping social platform

It seems that while Pinterest was hosting its second annual Creators Festival Wednesday, something much bigger was in the process of being created.

Payments giant PayPal is reportedly in advanced discussions to acquire the visual search and social commerce platform.

Neither company would comment on the negotiations.

Ed Hammond and Liana Baker of Bloomberg were the first to report on the talks, with published reports pegging the offer at roughly $70 per share, which would value the deal at approximately $45 billion.
