Until recently, like many Americans, Padma Lakshmi hadn’t heard of produce subscription startup Imperfect Foods and its mission to reduce food waste from farm to table. But today she becomes the challenger brand’s most high-profile endorser.

“I didn’t know about it at all, so I was very, very happy to stumble upon Imperfect Foods,” she told Adweek. “I think it’s a brilliant idea, to be honest.”

The culinary expert, best-selling author and TV producer-host stars in a campaign launching today centering on Imperfect Foods’ goal of bringing fresh produce to customers’ doorsteps by partnering directly with farmers.
