Nordstrom Tosses Its Hat Into Shoppable Livestreams

It follows Walmart and JCPenney's success in the space

Nordstrom is the latest U.S. retailer to offer shoppable livestreams, as the popular trend continues to gain steam beyond China, where it is massively popular among consumers.

The upscale retailer’s Livestream Shopping offering seeks to provide “informative and entertaining shopping events” in beauty, fashion and home, according to a statement. It will also offer live chats with event hosts.

Nordstrom expects to host multiple livestreams each week. Customers can browse upcoming events and sign up to attend events on a dedicated site.

“Through Livestream Shopping, we can meet the ever-changing needs and expectations of our customers and equip our team with more tools to deliver on our commitment to serve our customer wherever, whenever and however they want to shop,” said Fanya Chandler, senior vice president at Nordstrom, in a statement.
