The pandemic accelerated innovations in social commerce, but Meta vice president, commerce business and go-to-market Benji Shomair and Zox CEO Jason Kuipers agreed that the wheels were set in motion well before coronavirus became a household word.

Shomair and Kuipers joined Adweek executive vice president and editor in chief Stephanie Paterik on “The Future of Shopping Is Here,” a session during Adweek’s Commerce Week event.

They each provided their perspectives on how the social commerce landscape has been evolving.

“The headline we’re really seeing is how people are discovering products … and where people are discovering those products,” Shomair said.
