Meta is entering the brick-and-mortar retail arena, but in real life, not the metaverse.
Facebook’s parent company said Monday that it will open the doors to the roughly 1,550-square-foot Meta Store on the company’s campus in Burlingame, Calif., May 9.
The Meta Store marks the company’s first physical retail space, and shoppers will be able to try out all of its hardware products, such as by making video calls to retail associates with Portal, experience an immersive virtual reality demonstration via the Quest 2 headset or learn how the Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses work.
Meta Store head Martin Gilliard said in a Newsroom post Monday, “Once people experience the technology, they can gain a better appreciation for it.
