Lowe’s is tapping laser scanning technology to help DIYers better place their carpeting.
The home improvement chain announced a new room measurement tool this week powered by Lidar—a technology that gauges how long light takes to travel to and from a surface to measure a space. The feature will first be integrated into flooring listings to make it easier for customers to estimate their square footage needs through their phones, starting sometime in the first few months of 2022.
