Instacart Is Partnering With Walmart on a New Virtual Convenience Store

The new offering will have a trial run in Toronto

Instacart is working with Walmart to bring Canadians a new virtual convenience store format as the grocery app faces competition from a raft of speedy new delivery services.

Called Walmart Now, the online shop offers thousands of products from 10 Walmart locations in the Toronto area, with delivery fulfilled by Instacart in as quickly as 30 minutes. The format is currently in a pilot test phase, in which it’s available to around 40% of Toronto households, but could be expanded to more areas if successful.
