Just as the pandemic seemed to be easing up and Americans began taking trips, setting aside their sweatpants and going out en masse, a new crisis has hampered spending nationwide.
With inflation at 8.6%, its highest point since 1981, people are feeling the pain everywhere from the pump to the grocery aisles. In a survey of nearly 2,300 Americans completed in early June, YouGov found that in the last six months, people have made significant necessary as well as discretionary cuts in their household budgets.
